People have the desire to make traces after themselves.
A fascination of the transition between the two- and the three dimensional often forms the point of departure for my work. I work a lot with the clay which is in a state between liquid and plastic. This becomes extruded and forms lines with which I draw, write and construct. In the early stages of the process the lines are attached to the surface and appears as a relief, but as the clay dries it can be moved from the surface and it becomes a three dimensional sculpture. I am interested in various ways to describe something, by which the degree of clarity changes. All actions have their own language and each material expresses something about its origin, applied process and further potential.
